The Vision 2050 Boondoggle -
Consider the timing!
In 2023 find a way to close
down the last project (Strategic Plan Refresh of 2021), and roll
it into a new project (Vision 2050. Nothing has improved, so
Council arranges more expensive studies and briefs that will
again produce no tangible results.
Voila! Council
punted this problem to 2050!
In 2023/24 - start the new
project (Vision 2050) with a 2 year time frame to conduct a
survey and prepare reports. June/July 2024 - conduct a survey at
a variety of public and government-owned locations. 40%
of the respondents didn't even live in Owen Sound. What a waste
of more than $200,000 in taxpayers dollars.
